• Introduce U.S. graduate students in marine sciences to the intellectual and cultural world of interdisciplinary, international collaborative research.
• Develop research experiences between early career U.S. graduate students in marine sciences and more senior researchers at the Station Biologique de Roscoff (SBR), France.
• Give the opportunity to interact with local students, and with scientists that participate in the Network of Excellence Marine Genomics Europe (NoE MGE), a large international research consortium led by SBR scientists.
• The unifying research theme for the proposed program is molecular ecology and evolution of marine photosynthetic organisms
